WISDOM'S JOURNEY: How is your wisdom "filter"? Proverbs 4:14
How is your wisdom "filter"?
TODAY'S PROVERB: Do not enter the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evil people. Proverbs 4:14
Decisions are also before us. Everyday. Sometimes moment by moment.
These moments are when we choose to walk out our faith--or our fears. Our hopes--or our indifference. Our wisdom--or our ignorance.
Would we willingly enter the path of the wicked? Hopefully not. However, is it possible to walk in the way of evil and not realize it? Unfortunately, yes.
Evil can be subtle. It can mimic good. It generally disguises itself in attractive and viable ways to the uninformed.
How do we discern the difference?
Our pursuit of GOD's wisdom creates something like a spiritual filter. The more we learn from Him, the thicker the filter. We can "strain out" the evil, or foolish, or just wrong decisions.
For many years, I had no "wisdom filter." As a result, I found myself on paths that led to heartache and sin. Wisdom was like another language I couldn't understand--and, oh, how I craved it.
The day I learned that GOD freely gave us wisdom--that He wanted it for me, ME--I wept. The passage that made it real to me was: "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all without hesitation and without reproach; and it will be given to him." James 1:5
Wisdom was contained in the pages of the Bible I already cherished.
How grateful I am that He made wisdom available to all of His children. A chapter each day of Proverbs is our classroom. His Holy Spirit our teacher. Our study partners are those on the Wisdom Journey with us. How amazing is that?
May our filters strain out the evil, my friends.
