Does God share His secrets with you?

TODAY'S PROVERB: The fear of ADONAI is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Proverbs 1:7

We're back! Back at the beginning of a new month, fresh insights, and reminders of how to live a faithful, wise life.

Today's proverb reminds me of Psalms 25:14: "The secret of ADONAI is for those who fear Him. He makes His covenant known to them."

Does God share His secrets with us? For certain people, yes, He does. Can we be one of those people? Yes!

Who are those people?

Friends. Friends confide in friends who are trustworthy, loyal, and faithful. I have friends I love dearly and enjoy being around, then I have friends I trust my heart with. The ones I trust with my heart are the ones who know my secrets.

Those are the types of friends our Heavenly Father is looking for.

Oswald Chambers wrote: "Have we ever let God tell us any of His joys? Or are we continually telling God our secrets, leaving Him no time to talk to us?"

As we continue on the Wisdom Journey, we, each day, better understand how to follow God. To live His word by reading and doing it to the best of our ability. When we live it each day, we spend more time with Him. When we spend more time with Him, He's more apt to share His heart, His joy--His secrets.

It's not what He can do for us, it's about relationship. It's the difference between having access to a king and gaining his favor, or a king longing to be with US and sharing what's important to him. What an honor!

The wonderful thing is, our Heavenly Dad wants that relationship with ALL of His kids. And, He's big enough to handle it. We just have to be ready.

So the fear of ADONAI is only the beginning, but it's a great place to start. And, as we begin again in chapter one, we're one step closer to Him trusting us with His secrets.

May we continue on Wisdom's Journey, my friends.
