Do you sometimes feel invisible?
TODAY'S PROVERB: Though He scoffs at the scoffers, He gives grace to the humble. Proverbs 3:34
It's in our nature to want to be seen. We may not want or need adulation, but we don't like being made to feel invisible.
We live in a world with many voices. The louder a voice, the more they are listened to--even if they have nothing of value to say. When we try to out-shout those voices we can feel foolish or ineffectual--the shouting conflicts with our message.
This proverb reminds me of Psalm 138:6: "For though ADONAI is exalted, yet He looks upon the lowly, but the haughty He knows from afar."
What do people see when they do see us?
For Jesus-followers, we want to be seen as people of integrity and that our words and deeds point--in a good way--to Yeshua, the Savior of our soul.
We hope our life has meaning and purpose in God's kingdom. In our Wisdom Journey, we may think the seemingly subtle changes in how we think and act won't make a difference, but our Heavenly Father sees. He notices. And it does make a difference.
Every day we are re-calibrating our compass to His true North. We know where we're going even when it isn't always clear, because we trust in His guidance system.
Have you ever been in a strange town where there is road construction? There may be detour signs or a distracted person with a flag, but for those new to the area, it helps to be able to follow the person ahead who knows where they're going.
God is that vehicle ahead of us. And, the really wonderful thing is, we can be the vehicle ahead for someone else. We can do it without even knowing there are others watching and following us. We simply drive the way we know.
As we travel this Wisdom Journey, know that He sees us and smiles in love and grace. We're not invisible, we're loved.
May we know we're seen, my friends.
