Do you know the delight of speaking wisdom?



TODAY'S PROVERB: For it is delightful if you keep them within you, ready on your lips. Proverbs 22:18

Do you remember the first time someone asked for advice and you "heard" the answer? The wisdom and knowledge tucked into your heart and mind rose up, ready to respond? You could "see" the practical application to the words written thousands of years ago?

Then, to step out in faith, and love, to speak them? Oh, what a delight!

Do you feel comfortable speaking wisdom to others? Not reciting verses, but real, practical understanding?

For those of you who regularly post on these blogs, with the insights I've read over the years, I suspect you are already doing a great job.

But, of the hundreds of people who read these little devotionals, and the thousands who watch the vlogs, I wonder. Do you know the pleasure of wisdom entering your heart and knowledge delighting your soul (Proverbs 2:10)?

It's you, YES, YOU (Proverbs 22:19) that I want to encourage. Step out in faith, my friends, share wisdom as you learn.

Find others who are on the wisdom journey--or aren't even aware that this adventure exists. Seek them out. Invite them to coffee or tea, and journey together.

Practice speaking wisdom. Demonstrate understanding. Discuss the layers of insights that can only come with regular, daily, visits to the Proverbs.

What if a cadre of wisdom travelers grew? That we spoke more wisdom into this world? That the world witnessed more and more people living peaceful, fruitful lives? Lives of integrity, truth, and love for the Creator of the Universe and the Savior of our souls?

I'd say that would be compelling. It would be amazing! It would be a delight to us, and to our Heavenly Father.

May we know the delight of living and speaking GOD's wisdom, my friends.

Are you being diverted? TODAY'S PROVERB: Do not turn to the right or to the left. Divert your foot from evil. Proverbs 4:27 I love flying at night. Are you a voice for God's covenant? TODAY'S PROVERB: ...to deliver you from a seducing woman—a wayward wife with seductive words, who forsakes the partner of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God. Proverbs 2:16-17 Infidelity. The last few generations tend to think infidelity was something they created. For certain they have developed it into an art form using film, music, literature, and now, social media. Throughout Scrip ture and history, women have played as much of a role in this sin as men. Honestly, as women, we should know better. These days, women tend to look at fornication and adultery as their rights -- their choice. We can justify and defend all we want, but the truth is that it all boils down to this: our choice is whether we sin or don't sin. Not a popular thing to say. WISDOM'S JOURNEY: Are you lame or reliable? Proverbs 25:19

Are you lame or reliable? TODAY'S PROVERB: Like a broken tooth or a lame foot is confidence in the unfaithful in time of trouble. Proverbs 25:19 I have a "trick" ankle. There appears to be no rhyme or reason when it decides to give out. I'll take a step and it's like the bones turn to rubber. A misstep on stairs or a ladder or while carrying something can be treacherous. If I knew what caused the weakness then I could avoid  placing demands on it. But, alas, I don't know, so I can never fully trust it. Today's proverb counsels us about "trick ankle" people. Do you have people like this in your life? For the most part, they are reliable, but at unpredictable -- and inevitably important moments -- they are not reliable. Even when we forgive them for these events, we're still unsure if we can depend on them. It leaves a small residue on our ability to trust them completely -- at least for a season.
