Looking for a new best friend?

Proverbs 4:6--Oh. My. Goodness. I've been reading a chapter of Proverbs nearly everyday for close to twenty years, and I just "saw" this!

Proverbs treats Wisdom like a person. The Hebrew noun is feminine, which is why the pronouns used are her and she.

She is more than the conduit of our Heavenly Father's wisdom, she gives us practical applications to this ancient wisdom. What she imparts has been respected and revered by sages for thousands of years.

So, Wisdom is worthy of our attention to be sure. She should not be ignored and treated as quaint. She should be respected. Well, here's what I realized this morning. SHE wants a relationship with us. A real friendship, everyday.

One of my best friends lives next door to me. If we go more than a day--unless we're traveling--without some type of contact, we, at least, really miss each other, at the most feel we've lost precious time together.

We're not with each other all day long, sometimes it's only a few moments, but the time we spend together has meaning and purpose. If we didn't, how much we would lack in experience, edification, exhortation, accountability, growth, and fun as women.

I think Wisdom wants that, too.

Let's welcome Wisdom as our best friend into our life. Let her share what she has to say each day and learn. She imparts one of GOD's precious gifts. Who wouldn't want a friend like that?

May we make friends with Wisdom, my friends.
