Does your "harvest" "feed" others?
Proverbs 8:19--What does our wisdom "harvest?" Up until recently, I only thought of wisdom as belonging to GOD--you know, the Creator of the Universe?
It turns out there's a counterfeit to His wisdom. And it can look, on the surface, a lot like true wisdom.
How does one distinguish between the real and the artificial? By its fruit--what that wisdom harvests.
I love what Jacob (James) has to say about true wisdom: "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, not hypocritical." (Jacob 3:17).
An earlier verse says: "Who among you is wise and understanding? By his good conduct let him show his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom." (Jacob 3:13).
Perhaps, these verses can be summed up in one word: humility. Wisdom belongs to ADONAI. He shares it with us because He loves us and wants us to live an amazing life in the midst of a world who denies Him.
The moment we grab that wisdom and take ownership, rather than stewardship, we corrupt the beauty of this precious gift.
Does the wisdom we live harvest purity, peace, gentleness, teachability, mercy, truth, and honor? Then, we have the delicious fruit of GOD's wisdom. Fruit we can share to a hungry world.
May our harvest be plentiful and good, my friends.
