Which treasure are you seeking?

Proverbs 10:2--Arrgh! Perhaps it's my storyteller's mind, but when I read this verse, pirates come to mind.
Robbing ships on the high seas is the pirates' way. Bountiful booty. Wealth beyond measure. And what do they do with it? Bury it. They figure they're really clever by drawing up cryptic treasure maps, but there are an awful lot of still-buried treasures out there. So, what did it profit them?
There are still "pirates" out there taking from others--land, air, and sea. All of us probably have stories of being robbed, or someone stealing from us.
Did you know there are spiritual pirates? Those souls who seek out the treasures of our hearts--our joy, our hope, our dreams. They rob us when we least expect it and leave us thinking they've run away with what we hold dear.
But, of what use is their ill-gotten gain? Nothing. What they take from us will only rob them of integrity, honor, and so much more.
And the ironic thing is, those are treasures they don't need to steal. Our Heavenly Daddy has treasures beyond our wildest imagination stored up for us. They're free to His children. No map necessary.
May we seek the greatest Treasure, a life lived with our Heavenly Father.
