How do you treat those who serve?
Proverbs 30:10--There are people working in the service industries that are regularly picked on. They tend to be the dumping ground for people's frustrations and insecurities and pride.
From housekeeping to waitstaff to secretaries to police officers to cashiers, unfortunately, they are easy targets for insults, accusations, and general bullying.
It's important to remember two things next time service is a bit slow, or we get pulled over for a speeding ticket.
First, remember the Golden Rule, "So in all things, do to others what you would want them to do to you—for this is the Torah and the Prophets." Matthew 7:12.
Second, remember that we all have the same "Master," our Creator and Heavenly Dad. He loves us all, but ultimately we are held accountable for our misdeeds. And, frankly, the last thing I want to do is have my Father watch me misbehave.
Today, let's set a new standard to be kind to all, and be especially gracious to those in the service industry--even if service is not as good as we want.
May we be gracious as we would want someone to give us grace, my friends.
