Do you know the state of your "flocks?"

Proverbs 27:25-27--Prudence. These verses personify the word. From seed to provision for the family, this is prudence in action.

A prudent person is wise in practical applications to wisdom, by providing for the future. They are cautious even in the seemingly mundane routines, and can manage their resources frugally and well.

Proverbs is big on prudence. It's one of the most effective tools in managing family, marriage, finances, and business.

Looking ahead while being mindful of today is an art that takes counsel from time to time, and lots of practice.

What can that look like in our life:
  • Getting regular dental, physical, and eye exams.
  • Maintaining our vehicles.
  • Putting away funds--even if it's only $10 a month--in a retirement account.
  • Saving for emergencies.
  • Cleaning and organizing closets and cabinets to know what we have.

Verse 23 speaks of knowing the condition of our "flock." If we pay attention to the care and upkeep of the resources and gifts GOD has given us, we're less likely to be caught in an unexpected expense.

Emergencies happen. We can't plan for every contingency. But we can plan for and maybe avoid some emergencies.

It's just another reason why we can be so grateful to the LORD for Proverbs--for these secrets to a more successful and less stressful life.

May we know the condition of our "flocks," my friends.

Proverbs 27:25-27--When hay is removed and grass appears, and grain from the hills is gathered in, lambs will provide you with clothing, and goats with the price of a field. There will be enough goats’ milk for food and food for your household, and sustenance for your maidservants. Tree of Life Bible Society Tree of Life Version - TLV #tlvbible #tlvproverbs
