Are you better at giving or receiving?

Proverbs 11:25--I guess this proverb is pretty simple, "It's better to give than receive." (Acts 20:35) If we've been a follower of Jesus (Yeshua) for any length of time, we know these words.

Yet, it's amazing how often we need to be reminded of the fact that giving also needs to be a blessing--not simply passing on a trinket or a check.

Blessing someone is the gift that keeps giving. In fact it's a gift we can give ourselves. When we give to bless others, it edifies our heart. Brings happiness.

In fact, I find that if I'm feeling a bit grumpy and down, giving to someone changes my attitude. The situation may not have altered, but my point of view does.

Generosity has little to do with things or money, but everything to do with giving of ourselves.

In the busy-ness of life, or in the midst of our own difficult times, stepping outside of the demands on our shoulders to help others is a sacrifice. We can feel depleted thinking about it, much less doing it. But, when we let that generosity flow, it becomes a holy sacrifice--as unto GOD.

And when we give in this way, we will be quenched with His Living Waters.

May our soul prosper and be quenched as we give, my friends.
