Are you a morning or evening person?

Proverbs 6:22--Are you a morning or evening person? When does the LORD speak with you? Actually, He speaks with us all day long, so the better question is, when do we listen the best?

I am a morning person. For those that know me, I'm up before the crack of dawn and in bed barely after sundown. So, I listen best in the early morning hours.

Once my mind revs up, it's difficult to pause and provide a calm environment for the LORD and I to meet. And, honestly, even then I don't always give Him the opportunity to speak first.

Because He knows I'm dust (Psalm 103:14), He knows the optimal time to get a word in edgewise . . .

I love those wee hours of the morning when He speaks to me. Before the alarm sounds, when I'm only barely awake. He whispers something profound, or sweet, or a warning, or a reminder. Then as I awaken He guides me in His word and depends the connection.

How I look forward to those early morning encounters the most because they belong to Him, and me.

May we wake up or lie down with ADONAI whispering in our ear, my friends.

Proverbs 6:22--When you walk, they will guide you.
When you lie down, they will watch over you,
and when you wake up, they will speak to you.
