DAY 70 IN THE 91-DAY NEW HABIT CHALLENGE! #ProverbsChallenge

Proverbs 11--Okay friends, I want to be transparent. Here goes. I am currently binge-watching the TLC show, Counting On.

You may be familiar with 19 Kids And Counting:The Duggars, Counting On is a spin-off that features the ongoing lives of the adult and young adult Duggar kids, from their perspective.
As the eldest of 5 kids, I understand there is always drama and antics in a larger family. With 19 kids, more than half are adults and young adults, TLC will be well supplied with episodes.
I was drawn to the show for several reasons. One being their unashamed profession of their Christian life. But, more than that, it is how much they live out that faith with their love for each other.
Today's proverb instructs us to diligently seek good. What has so endeared me to this family and this show is that they live out how to diligently seek good with the most important people in their lives, their family. Their siblings.
Through the benefits of technology I've been able to observe them through years of trials and joys. What is lacking in their lives is sibling rivalry. It's lacking because their parents trained them to only speak good. To always seek the good in people and circumstances.
Sometimes they have to work really hard to find it--and those moments are as cute as they are humorous--but they don't care if they are perceived as quaint. They would rather seek the good than the evil.
This behavior comes from their diligence to seek GOD's good--or hope for good--over focusing on the bad things that happen. And if they can't think of anything good, they smile and say nothing at all.
"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any virtue and if there is anything worthy of praise—dwell on these things." Philippians 4:8, TLV (emphasis mine)
How I would love to have that type of relationship with my siblings. By studying what GOD has to say about this, and how to practically apply that even after all these years, I choose to be hopeful.
So, I want to diligently seek good in people. To seek GOD's goodness in even the most difficult of circumstances. To pray that GOD do what He does, and help me be obedient in what He calls me to do.
May we diligently seek and speak good, my friends.
