Proverbs 6--Anthropomorphisms aside, you have to admire the ant. They're always working because that's what they're created to do.
When GOD kept my mind on this passage I felt a little bad. Was He saying I was a slacker? That I needed to shove more into my day? Sigh. Okay, LORD.
But then, He showed me something really sweet. What does a slacker have to do with a sweet encouragement from the LORD? Intrigued?
It's all about the ant. While the ant is a good example of a hard worker, the ant also represents a good example of a creation that knows its purpose.
You see, the ant wakes up in its little ant hill, goes about its little ant business with its ant brothers and sisters, and lives out its ant purposes every day. Rain or shine. It doesn't question who it is. It's an ant.
How liberating this is, don't you think? To not question who we are and our purpose.
Think about this, if GOD builds into the tiny ant a clear identity and purpose, doesn't He do the same for us--we who were made in His image?
That means, GOD wants us to know who we are--what purpose we were designed for in His Kingdom. Kind of awesome don't you think?
May we remember the ant, and know that our purpose was designed by GOD Himself, my friends.
