DAY 43 IN THE 91-DAY NEW HABIT CHALLENGE! #ProverbsChallenge

Proverbs 12--I admire my husband, Bob for many reasons. This proverb reminds me of one of those attributes. Bob is a man of few words.

Sometimes this trait is very frustrating--trying to pull more than a few sentences from him about what he's feeling or thinking is like pulling an impacted wisdom tooth.

But, over the years, I've noticed that it's very rare that he has to apologize for saying something hurtful or inaccurate.

I, on the other hand, find myself repenting and apologizing a lot for reckless words.

Bob has shared with me what he may have thought about a situation--and many times we were on the same page--but he had the sense to keep his mouth shut until he analyzed the appropriateness or helpfulness of those words.

More often than not, he was right in his discernment to wait or not speak at all.

Sigh. When I grow up, I want to be like Bob.

May our tongues bring healing, my friends.

Proverbs 12:18--Reckless speech is like the thrusts of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Tree of Life Bible Society Tree of Life Version - TLV
