DAY 36 IN THE 91-DAY NEW HABIT CHALLENGE! #ProverbsChallenge

Proverbs 5--This chapter spends a great deal of time warning us of the presence of seduction. In today's world, sexual and other types of seduction are everywhere. That seduction is directed at men, women and even children.

As I thought about this verse, GOD revealed a secret. He seemed to shine the way to avoid the temptation of seduction, as well as any type of temptation.

Contentment.

Seduction and temptation can overtake us when we feel we are lacking something. When we "drink from our own cistern," we can overcome.

How do we drink from our own cistern? We focus on what GOD has already done for us. We look around and see the many blessings.

If we're in a challenging season, we're more susceptible to temptation. It's all the more important that we remember who GOD is, what He has done for us in the past, His promises for our future. We take the temptation captive and submit it to Yeshua knowing He can deal with it. He reveals the lies in the light of His truth.

Then He can take us to the next level. We are the wiser for overcoming something the enemy sought to use to destroy us.

When I'm tempted, I need to step back and check my heart. Find my contentment in the loving arms of my Heavenly Father. To drink the sweet Living Waters of the cistern He has given me.
