DAY 35 IN THE 91-DAY NEW HABIT CHALLENGE!#ProverbsChallenge

Proverbs 4--What sin makes us stumble? Greed? Envy? Laziness? Anger? Fear? Doubt?

Each of us has what I call "default" sins. Those sins that easily overcome us because we are vulnerable in that area.

Maybe that vulnerability stems from troubles in our childhood. Maybe a trauma. Maybe a betrayal. Bad things that weren't our fault, but leave a wound where the infection of sin can set in.

These sins create a cluttered pathway on our journey. Hebrews 12:1 tells us to rid ourselves of those sins that weigh us down or entangle us.

How do we make our steps firm?

  • We acknowledge the entanglement.
  • Confess it as a sin.
  • Choose to turn away from it.
  • Repent.
  • Then, receive the life-giving, healing forgiveness that only our loving Father can give us.

Next,

  • live in that forgiveness--even if there are repercussions from our sins.
  • Turn away from future temptations (because there will be many).
  • Know beyond a shadow of a doubt our Daddy will walk with us in love.
  • Don't carry the weight of guilt or regret.
  • Deal with the issues that arise in grace.
  • Walk out His mercy in gratitude.
  • Run that race in freedom!

If we can keep ourselves occupied with clearing our way and continuing the race, I believe we can be part of an amazing, fruitful life. We leave ourselves open and available for ADONAI to use us for His glory and kingdom. Amen?

May we clear our path, my friends.
