DAY 4 IN THE 91-DAY NEW HABIT CHALLENGE! #ProverbsChallenge

Proverbs 4

What a beautiful chapter! Within these verses we see the artistry of King Solomon as a writer. In romantic prose he is wooing his son with the beauty and charm of wisdom. He speaks of the benefits of embracing a life of wisdom. Who wouldn't want to pursue GOD's wisdom?

But, as with any relationship, there is a cost--an investment in our life choices. He hints at those choices with the verse that spoke to me this morning.

I remember reading somewhere to only make business decisions that can be done in the light of day. In other words, whatever you do, do as though anyone could watch.

When we live righteously, anyone should be able to examine our actions and judge them. While that isn't always practical, there is One who does see. The most important One in our lives, our Heavenly Abba. For He not only sees our behaviors, He sees straight into our heart, and all our motivations.

Next time we wrestle with a decision, whether to do the righteous thing or the self-serving thing, remember we can be seen. Our decisions can be an influence for good--or not. It's our choice.

May we choose wisely, my friends.
