DAY 31 IN THE 91-DAY NEW HABIT CHALLENGE! #ProverbsChallenge
And, for those young single men praying for a Proverbs 31 future wife? A word of caution. These verses depict the lifetime of a woman--not her daily activities.
Today, for me, verse 8 is especially relevant. With both my handsome husband and dear mother in various stages of recuperation, I found I was and am their voice. In this busy, complicated, sometimes overwhelming medical world, sometimes the patient's voice is lost.
It means an incredible investment of my time--spending nights in the hospital with little sleep, making numerous phone calls--but I found ample opportunities to speak up for my loved ones. as best I could. Sometimes I got the look--what does she want again--but if it was important, I swallowed my fear, polite sensitivities, and pride and kept at it.
We were also incredibly blessed by a young woman in the medical world who added her voice to mine--a voice with credible understanding. She was able to more for my family. Not just because of her medical experience, but because she took the time and cared enough to do so.
When GOD shows us injustice or neglect--intentional or not--we need to pray to have Him show us how to help. But, generally speaking, if He shows us, there's a reason.
Our voice can make the difference in another's well-being. When we add more voices, we can really make a difference. What an honor that will be.
May we be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves, and add our voice to those speaking against injustice, my friends.
