DAY 3 IN THE 91-DAY NEW HABIT TRAINING CHALLENGE!
Proverbs 3
What a wealth of practical wisdom and instruction in today's chapter. This morning, verse 28 struck a chord for me. On the surface, the proverb warns against a strategic-type of control over others--that, "I have something you want, but you have to wait until I say you can have it" type of control. Not good.
But, I was thinking this morning how this proverb also refers to procrastination--the decision to not do something now.
I'm realizing as I age how procrastination can create havoc in my life. I'm learning that if I don't make the call, pay that bill, do that THING that doesn't seem like such a big deal when it first comes to mind--or at least write it down--it comes back later to bite me in my tush (Yiddish for hind end).
Procrastination doesn't just affect my life. As with this proverb, procrastination affects others. Withholding something as simple as a phone call from someone expecting it can cause heartache and frustration. I suspect that's not why we're doing it, but even if we don't mean ill, it is received that way.
Sometimes that 5 minute task is worth so much more than saving that 5 minutes.
What passage in chapter 3 touched you? Please share with us the verse(s) and a taste of what GOD showed YOU for today.
May we be and do in the now, my friends.
